Call for Reviewers
The purpose of peer review in the publication of nursing research
is to ensure the advancement of nursing knowledge through critical
analysis of submitted manuscripts. Through such analysis, constructive
criticism is provided to the authors and publication recommendations
are made to the editors. The quality of the manuscripts published
in the CJNR is due, in large part, to the input of its reviewers.
Excellent reviewers possess the following attributes: high standards;
the ability to identify key issues and defend a position taken on
them, to see how a manuscript might add to the existing body of knowledge,
and to communicate effectively with authors; a high degree of objectivity;
and a willingness to learn from authors.
The CJNR is seeking individuals who possess these attributes, as well
as the qualifications listed below, and who are interested in contributing
to the advancement of nursing knowledge in this way.
Basic qualifications required:
1. Have a PhD or equivalent degree in nursing or a related discipline
or field
2. Have a demonstrated publication record; or
3. Are professionally qualified with significant experience in their
field, and have an understanding of the academic review process
Interested applicants are encouraged to download and read the following
CJNR Editorial regarding the Peer-Review
Process.
If you are interested in being considered as a regular reviewer for
the CJNR, please e-mail us your CV and Expertise
Form, or contact our office
for more information. A reviewer's initiation package is sent to each
new reviewer with guides specific to the type of manuscript for review
(Theoretical, Clinical, Historical, etc.).
For Current Reviewers

For current CJNR reviewers, please help us maintain an up to date
data base by notifying us of any changes to their reviewer information.
This can be done by downloading and filling in the Expertise
Form and then emailing it back to
us. This will enable us to up date our reviewer database to more efficiently
identify the most appropriate reviewer-manuscript match.
Thank you for your support.
